February update

First of all, I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Apologies it’s taken me a little while to post this update — it’s been a busy and exciting few weeks to say the least.

The end of December was all about seat time and preparation. I headed down to Whilton Mill to get some valuable practice ahead of my Academy test in February. Although the four-stroke karts there aren’t quite as quick as the two-stroke Club 100 machines, they’re still seriously fast and perfect for sharpening race craft and consistency.

In early February, I returned to Whilton — this time in the dry — which made a huge difference. In between those sessions, I also travelled up to Warden Law for more testing, alongside competing in some Teamsport karting to keep building momentum.

Then came February 7th — my Club 100 Academy Day at Whilton Mill. The goal was simple: prove I could be quick, consistent, and safe in the two-stroke Rotax karts. And of course… it rained!

With 26 drivers in the group — including eight experienced Club 100 racers — it was always going to be a challenge. Heading out for the first time, the pace was incredible. It took a couple of laps to adjust to the kart, but by lap three, I was pushing and starting to find my rhythm.

Session by session, my confidence grew, and the lap times kept improving. Across four ten-minute sessions, I consistently finished 7th in most sessions and 8th in one — out of 26 drivers. I was absolutely delighted with that result, especially considering most of the top eight had previous Club 100 experience.

Most importantly, I passed my test, which means I’m now eligible to compete in the full championship! It was an incredible experience and has only made me more excited for the season ahead.

My first race is now just over a week away and I can’t wait to get started.

Since the test, I’ve been back to Warden Law for more valuable seat time and will also be competing in Round 2 of the Teamsport Grid Series Championship, where I’m currently sitting second in my weight group.

Off the track, I’ve also been busy designing my new race suit, which is currently being produced by Freem. It should be with me soon, and I’ll be debuting it at Round 2 at Whilton Mill.

Importantly, the money raised through my sponsors has already gone directly towards Round 1 of the Club 100 Championship, as well as the vital pre-event testing leading up to it. Without the incredible support of Pavers and DSN Glazing, none of this would be possible.
