Hi, my name is Matthew Lyddall, I am 14 years old I live in Aldershot and I am an aspiring professional kart driver. I am seeking a sponsor who I will represent and promote on and off the racetrack.

I started racing in early 2022 with professional grade remote control cars round purpose made tarmac tracks all over England. I race primarily at my home track in Aldershot but have raced in Colchester, Eastbourne, West London and Adur. Early last year, I started my karting career, racing indoors at Farnborough Teamsport. I progressed quickly, working my way through the academy and qualifying to enter races within just 2 months, improving my performance every time I went. This inspired me to enter the BIKC (British Indoor Karting Championship) a Teamsport competition all over the UK. After making the top 6 at home I made it to the regional final in Cardiff.

Having this new found confidence, I entered the Xkart scholarship which had the opportunity to win a fully funded season of karting worth £25,000. After qualifying for stage 2 with a rapid time at Team Karting in Rochdale, I headed to Whilton Mill and gave it my all. The day featured media interviews, fitness tests and karting. Unfortunately, I did not win this prize but I still got a promising report from the organisers who encouraged me to pursue my involvement in the sport further and to continue seeking sponsorship. Due to the cost involved in this sport most drivers at this level have commercial sponsorship.

In the meantime, I worked on my fitness, gaining strength, I visit the gym three times a week and have training equipment at home. This allowed me to progress to owner karting and I have raced competitively against drivers with several years of experience.

I would love a company to feature as my main sponsor for the 2024 season and beyond. In return, they will be promoted primarily on social media through my platforms as well as through the media at race events. I will keep them updated regularly on my progress through emails and you may use the information as you wish.

A sponsorship would enable me to enter the Access Karting GX-UK Junior Championship starting on the 13th of April. The tracks are of high calibre and the competition is close. To do this, I must have a different kart and engine to match their specifications. This will give me the experience of racing a full season ready to move into higher category championships in the future. I estimate the cost for this season to be £5,000.00, this will cover the entry fees for the championship and each round, the cost of the kart chassis, engine, tyres, fuel and parts and also enable me to attend the events around the country.

At championship rounds, sponsors get exposure through social media, live streams and views from the paddock, especially as we are racing at some highly popular tracks. This is where sponsors can gain a positive image as it is clear they support the drivers to fulfil their racing dreams and careers.
