Portuguese Aspiring Racing driver, currently studying CyberSecurity at De Montfort University -Participant on the Mini Challenge Scholarship 2023/2024
Originally from Barcelos, Portugal, I moved alone to the UK at the age of 17 to go study CyberSecurity at De Montfort University, and I've always had a passion for anything with an engine, that being cars, motorbikes or karts!
I've first got my real racing action when I joined the University's Karting team and got to participate on the BUKC (which I still am to this day), but I've been around car competitions since I was 10 years old. Back in Portugal, I've been around rally and Drifting championships (not driving, of course), but always gathered knowledge from every type of race. More recently, I got more into Drag racing, at SantaPod here in the UK.
I come from a non-privileged background, and I always try to work my hardest and overtime hours (currently working night-shifts whilst at University) in order to always fund my races by myself, which thankfully has been going well.
My goal is to demonstrate my young friends from Portugal and UK that it is possible to achieve anything, even if you are not born in a "golden cradle"! Hard work and determination beats it everytime.
"Never be afraid to push it to the limits."
