Fulbeck Kart Club Crystal Cup report:

Last weekend I raced at Fulbeck in their Crystal Cup race. Saturday was practice day and I was on the pace straight away.

After a mainly dry Saturday we woke up to a wet Sunday morning, though it did dry up for the last 2 races…… The race day consisted of a practice session, 3 heats (random grids, no qualifying) and a final

I was 2nd fastest in practice, then for the heats, the way the random system works is that you get 1 start near the front, 1 from the middle and one near the back. I finished 3rd in all my heats (though I was demoted to 5th in heat 3 due to a nose cone penalty)

This meant I lined up 3rd for the final. Myself and the drivers in 1st and 2nd pulled a massive gap to the rest of the field, but spent the whole race separated by less than half a second. I was fast enough to win, but just couldn’t find a way past so I had to settle for 3rd place and fastest lap.

On the whole I’m happy though 😀
