SKRC Round 6 Heatwave Cup

Second race on Novice plates and my first time at Shenington for SKRC Round 6, the Heatwave Cup, and I came away really pleased with how it went.

It was a good learning weekend, especially getting used to starting from the back and finding ways to make progress regardless of pace. Across the heats I moved forward well and made solid gains (22 places across the 2 heats) which put me into the B Final starting P7. That was already a result I would have been happy with at the start of the weekend.

In the B Final I had a strong start and made early progress getting into P3. I made few mistakes in the latter part of the race, which lost me several places. I kept pushing, recovered to finish P8 on the road (P6 after penalties). I finished 36th overall from 64 drivers, which was enough to take Top Novice.

I am really happy with that at a new circuit. It feels like another positive step in the Novice class, and I am grateful for all the support that makes this progress possible.
