Edward Kime, a racing driver battling with MS aims to race in the Alfa Romeo Italian Intermarque Championship, while raising awareness of Multiple Sclerosis.

Motorsport has been a part of Edwards life since his Grandfather who worked at Michelin, introduced him to motor racing at the age of 3. Born in Nottingham, Edward first raced in karts at the age of 15 & began to race more competitively in his early 20s achieving over 30 wins within 5 years. 

At University, Edward was elected Captain of the British University Karting Championship team for 2 years while studying at a Postgraduate level. Shortly after, he began working as a Human Performance Coach for numerous racing drivers competing in categories from karting through to Formula 3.

Whilst continuing his career in motorsport in 2024, Edward was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis weeks before what was supposed to be his first motorcar race. His first relapse lasted 4 months in which he had to relearn to walk & adapt to his new life.

Instead of giving up, Edward committed to himself that his diagnosis was not going to be the end & aims to to use his diagnosis alongside motorsport as a platform to inspire others with disabilities that anything is possible.

“I don’t just want to race; I want to prove that a diagnosis is not a finish line but an opportunity to achieve incredible things when the odds are stacked against you.”

Edward aims to raise awareness of the neurodegenerative disease through his ‘Racing the Relapse’ fundraising campaign for MSUK.

Now in 2026, he is becoming the only driver in the UK racing with MS in 2026 & only the 2nd ever British racing driver but also the 4th ever recorded worldwide to compete whilst battling MS.

Edward will be racing in the much loved Alfa Romeo 156 in the Twin Spark class of the Alfa Romeo Italian Intermarque Championship with Bianco Motorsport. Fitted with air conditioning & wearing cooled nomex racewear to manage his symptoms.
