Warden Law Spring Cup 20/02/26

Last weekend, I was racing at my home track, warden law for their annual spring cup. The weekend was a steep learning curve, going up against some of the top drivers in the country. Despite this tough challenge, I did well, whilst learning the new layout in the dry. Race report ->

Quali -
Quali didn’t go as well as we expected, coming 43rd out of 48. This was caused by people weaving all over the track looking for a tow and the fact I’ve still not adapted to the short 5 min quali time

Heat 1 -
Heat one went well and I managed to gain 2 places (27th out of 32) from where my quali time put me

Heat 2 -
Heat 2 went well again, managing this time to stay with the group and find a tow. I was definitely more confident in this heat, getting overtakes in and creating gaps between me and people who had spun out further up the field. Despite this however, after shunting someone a bit to hard, I got a 5 second penalty for a dropped front fairing which put me down to 31st out of 32nd 🫠

Super heat -
Due to my penalty in heat 2, I was set further down the field for my super heat. The super heat started off well, again, staying with the group and picking up places where I could. Then the rain started 😐. I tried my best in keeping my kart on track which I was successful in, closing the gap between me and the people in front, until I got spun out, loosing two places. Luckily this was seen, and sorted but still not ideal.

Repcharge -
The repcharge went well, making up two places during the race (some of which I thought i wouldn’t get away with 😬). I was starting to catch up with the driver in front, but I dropped off probably due to being tired.

Overall, it was a fairly positive weekend, competing against a very tough grid of drivers in my category, while managing to get within the mix. Up next —> PFI!
