After a strong qualifying run at the Bikc local finals, a braking error in the race cost me a shot at the Regionals, finishing near the back despite early promise.

What a day at the BIKC local finals. With three rounds to get through, I started strong in practice, finishing just four tenths off the fastest time. Qualifying went well, too—I managed fourth on the grid with a lap of 44.326, about half a second behind pole position. I knew if I could hold that spot in the final, I’d have a good chance of progressing to the next round at High Wycombe.
Unfortunately, racing can be unpredictable. In the heat of the opening laps, surrounded by karts, I misjudged the braking point heading to the upramp. I locked up and spun, which cost me dearly and put my hopes of reaching the Regionals out of reach. In the end, I brought it home near the back of the field.
It’s a tough lesson, but every lap is a chance to learn and improve. Thank you to everyone who’s been supporting me—your encouragement means a lot. I’ll be working hard to come back stronger next time. For more on my journey, visit my profile.
