A foggy day with delays, incidents and some driving excellence!

CPKC Round 2 / T4 UK Series Round 1 race report.
Clay Pigeon welcomed us with fog and a damp track - what followed was a mix of wrong tyre choice, some brilliant driving, a technical issue costing me a win in heat 2 and being pushed off the track in the final and a penalty for dropped nose.
Not my greatest day of racing
Heat 1 I struggled with completely shot wet tyres that caused me to have no grip or confidence in my machinery. This resulted in me being uncompetitive throughout the entire race and slipping down to P12.
Heat 2 saw great improvement. I started on pole but was demoted down to P3 by T2. I stayed with the top 2 and regained P2 after the driver in front had a chain fall off. Now it was a straight fight between me and P1. Multiple laps of battling insued which saw me reclaim P1. I would stretch my lead out to about 5 seconds until the last lap where my chain fell off, snatching my first win away at the last. DNF (P8)
Heat 3 saw me start P5 but would drop to P6 after a very close battle between another driver.
In the final I would start P11 but was up to P7 by lap 3. Going into the esses, I pulled along the driver ahead but was sideswiped into a wall resulting me to drop back to 13th. I would claw back 10 seconds in the remaining laps and would regain 1 position to P12.
A disappointing day overall but Heat 2 in particular showed I have the pace to fight with the very best in the T4 series battling with the current 2025 champion and ultimately overtaking and pulling away from him before my chain came off.
Onwards and upwards for Fulbeck next month for the Tillotson T4 series 2026 Round 2 and to experience a new track!
