An action packed day with 2 red flags. thrills, spills and worry but ultimately a good result including a new best lap time.

Clay Pigeon Club round 3 race report
Practice went well in the dry with me being 4th and 5th fastest in 1st and second practice. However like always at Clay rain had a say in proceedings raining minutes before heat 1
Heat 1 went pretty terrible. I was on bare wets with almost no tread left on them and I sank all the way down to 7th. A brutal start to the day but as the sun shone back through the clouds, my fortunes would change.
In heat 2 I dropped to P6 at the start but would be promoted back into P4 after a terrifying accident between 2 karts directly ahead of me. Thankfully everyone involved was okay however the crash fid result in a red flag. After the race resumed I kept pace with the top 3 and even had a sniff at going for a move on P3 but couldn’t pull it off.
Heat 3 saw another red flag (the driver was okay). In the first laps after the restart I fought hard for the lead but would have to settle for a P4 in the end.
In the final I went from 5th to 4th to 5th again, however, after penalties were applied, I was promoted back up into P4, again challenging for the last spot on the podium but not quite achieving it.
Overall a great day for me with a P4 finish and consistently battling in the lead pack. I also managed to set my fastest lap time around Clay with a 38.72
Onwards to Fulbeck in 2 weeks time!
