Clay Pigeon Kart Club 2026 Championship Round 1 - Summary Report - 7th & 8th February 2026

I have now lost my Novice numbers replacing with the Junior standard black on yellow format. Practice day saw us get teh engine back from servicing and having the upgrade completed. 3 sessions of practice were done to check set up and the engine. Everything went well with 2 wet sessions and one dry session showing I had good pace.

Race Day Report

Atrocious weather conditions welcomed us that stayed with us for the whole day but that didn't dampen my spirits.

Heat 1 began with me in P2 with conditions best suited for a canal boat rather than a kart. I got a decent get away maintaining P2 until T1 where I got pushed from behind and dropped to P7 in the following melee. After that I managed to drive back to P5 following the lines from the driver in front of me as he was much more experienced.

Heat 2 started and I started P4 but dropped to P5 and held my position, however, I stuck close to the back of the podium battle.

In heat 3 I started P2 again and get a mega launch off the line (with some help from the driver behind) and shot into P1. The following laps saw me defend, making my kart as wide as possible. Unfortunately, into the last corner I was hit again and spun out of contention. ( This was purely a racing incident between drivers battling hard for position)

In the final I started P7 and fought my way back up to P5 with a solid drive with no real errors. A respectable finish in the my largest grid start In Tillotson T4
