First time at buckmore park wow

Wow what a day my first races at buckmore park were sooo good i love the track and the racing here you can really push the kart and it rewards you,

Things didnt start out too plan for us though a carb problem at the start forced a change and some strutineering issues with weight made for a hectic hour moving it all on the seat which pushed the centre of gravity back and made the steering light and understeering but we made some changes and i felt more comfortable.

Ive never raced here so as we didnt do the saturday practice i had 3 laps to get too grips with the circuit and my pace was good from the off.

I qualified 4th just behind the experienced guys and was happy with that consisdering.

Heat 1 i finished 4th in a tight battle which was brilliant and why i love this series so much it promotes close racing where racecraft rather than power get you out of trouble.

Heat 2 finished 5th i was slightly dissapointed with this but the driver in front put up a defending master class and as much as i tried i just couldnt get that extra bit of nose in front too make a pass but considering the lack of experiance i was in the fight and the dissapointment didnt last long.

Final started badly into the second corner i got into the back of the kart in front a combination of them braking slightly earlier and me resting my leg on the throttle cable which is hard not too do when your feet are dancing around with the high loads into each corner, This caused my throttle too stay open and while braking didnt slow me down enough.

So I span around this made my blood boil now with around a 6 second deficite i was on a mission too hunt down 4th and get that place back so in the next 8 minutes thats exactly what i did breaking my personal best lap after lap i hunted the driver in front down and managed a lovely little pass inside his kart around turn one i was so exhusted but it was worth the effort im only 38kgs with 22kg of weight onbourd and this an adult size kart so it takes it out of me so i got 4th in the final thats the maximum i could of achieved so mission acomplished on too clay next weekend for another ikr event hoping for more good progress.
