Our final race weekend report of the 2026 season

Heading into the weekend we are feeling pretty confident having shown good pace here in the past and being a brilliant event to be part of it was set to be a brilliant way to end the season. Unfortunately it turned out to be a tough one!
Qualifying - Initially we started off pretty well bringing the tyres in gently the car felt good but around half way through a strange tracking issue started to occur and the car just wasn’t drivable. We qualified p5 but the issue hampered our session. With some help we got to the bottom of the issue which turned out to be a steering rack internal fault.
Race one - was a busy race! I didn’t have the best of starts but managed to get upto 4th by the end of lap one, then ensued a race long battle with Heap and Butcher Lord, turns out coppice with 3 minis side by side is quite tight! Unfortunately we just didn’t have the pace to catch the top 3 bringing it home p4 but inheriting 3rd after some penalties.
Race two - bit of a nightmare! Once again I didn’t get the best of starts and dropped to 5th but got back upto 4th after a few laps and initially the car felt faster than race one, but a few laps on the car developed a vibration and some understeer, this then resulted in me running very wide at coppice dropping to 7th and running with a worse vibration than before it was a case of nurse it home and bank the points.
Race 3 - after diagnosing the problem from race 2 as a driveshaft we got this changed with thanks to Gary Papworth for the part! Starting 7th it was allways going to be pretty tough after the first few laps we made our way upto 5th but unfortunately we just didn’t have the outright pace to make further progress coming home in 5th.
Unfortunately we just didn’t have the pace or the luck this weekend and it wasn’t through lack of trying! Heading into the off season we have work to do but planning is very much underway along with testing plans so that we head in 2027 with the best opportunity to fight back up the front. We showed some great pace this year at times and the racing has been phenomenal but the hard work starts now and no stone will be unturned as we aim to come back stronger than ever next year!
