414bhp of V8 RWD in the wet

16th Feb marked the first track day of the year for me, it felt long overdue and I was very excited to get back out in the E92.
The weather looked like it was going to behave and it was dry when we arrived, after a few laps out on the road tyres I drove it there on (Yokohama AD09's), I was just about to get the jack out and switch on to full slicks... cue the rain!
Other than on the road it was my first time on a fully wet track in the E92 and man does that thing like to go side ways! Great learning experience though - both to learn the wet and dry lines at Donington and to get a bit more wet driving under my belt in RWD.
I also got some running in my friends E46 M3 race car on full wets... now that was a whole other beast and had what felt like unlimited grip! Maybe time to invest in a set of wets for the E92 as well!
I hadn't really driven Donington properly before, only once on a driving experience about 10 years ago in a Jag Project 8 - fun car to drive, but 3 or 4 laps wasn't really enough time to learn or appreciate the circuit. Donington is the last race of the season in the Clio's this year so I'll definitely be out there again before the end of the year. Hopefully in the dry next time!
